![]() The problem is that you have to tighten the treble side set screw so far that the bridge starts to come out of the the post causing the whole thing to tip forward. So the only way to get these mutant vintage guitars to intonate is to tighten the set screws behind each post. The problem is that some of these vintage Gibbys have the bridge studs, especially the treble side, located too far forward towards the neck (note: it's not all of them and the flaw wasn't carried over to the reissues). The Music City Studfinder bridge is primarily designed to fix a specific problem that some vintage guitars have with intonation. ![]() If you want adjustable saddles, I'm still a fan of the fancy Schroeder. If you want improved intonation with the 1-piece wraparound tone, I'd probably get the Mojoaxe. needs nut work before it will reliably stay in tune. I will take heat from a vocal minority for saying this but I'm just going to say it: every. This is true on almost all guitars, but especially guitars with tilt back headstocks where the strings exit the nut at steep sideways angles. A better aftermarket wraparound is a great thing since the factory design has its shortcomings, but if you're going to spend money to fix a problem just be sure it's the right one.įor tuning stability, the big culprit is the nut. Keeping a guitar in tune and intonation are really two separate things.
